Sherpa Group Supports Palm Beach Neighbourhood Centre Programs
Community
“At Sherpa, community is at the heart of everything we do, and whilst we create Flourish, we want to ensure we are positively impacting our neighbourhood,” said Sherpa Founder Christie Leet.
The Palm Beach Neighbourhood Centre will expand a range of wellbeing and community education programs in 2026 following new funding support from local developer Sherpa Group.
Sherpa has contributed $7,000 to support initiatives including the centre’s popular Wellbeing Wednesday program, which connects community members with services such as breathwork, aqua aerobics, life coaching, psychology and financial resilience workshops.
The funding will also assist in delivering a series of community workshops focused on topics including mental health, parenting, healthy relationships, financial resilience, domestic and family violence, and community safety.
“At Palm Beach Neighbourhood Centre, we see every day how important connection and wellbeing are. Support from Sherpa helps us reach more people in our community and continue programs like Wellbeing Wednesday,” said Victoria Benmore, Palm Beach Neighbourhood Centre Coordinator.
“Palm Beach Neighbourhood Centre is a local hub where people connect and access support and referral pathways. Partnerships with organisations like Sherpa allow us to extend our reach and deliver programs that strengthen community wellbeing.”
“Places like the Palm Beach Neighbourhood Centre play such an important role in bringing people together and providing support when it’s needed,” Mr Leet said. “We feel fortunate to be part of this community and to be able to contribute in a small way to programs that help people connect and access support.”
The contribution forms part of Sherpa Group’s broader commitment to supporting local organisations along the southern Gold Coast, aligning with the company’s community-focused ethos behind its Flourish developments.
This includes a recently announced partnership with The Secret Burden, with Sherpa committing $20,000 annually to support the charity’s work raising awareness and providing support for people affected by eating disorders.
Founded by Kendall Walters and Ashelee Thomas, The Secret Burden works to reduce stigma and provide support to individuals and families impacted by eating disorders. Sherpa Group also contributes to several other local initiatives, including:
- Palm Beach Boardriders, now in the second year of a three-year sponsorship
- Food donations to the Palm Beach Neighbourhood Centre
- The Daniel Morcombe Foundation
Sherpa Group is the developer behind the Flourish community in Palm Beach, which aims to provide more accessible housing options for first-home buyers on the southern Gold Coast.
Designed as a multigenerational community, Flourish will offer apartments suited to a range of residents, from those entering the property market to downsizers looking to remain connected to the area.
“It’s about backing organisations who do important work and supporting programs that make a genuine difference to everyday lives.” Mr Leet said. “We build in these communities, so it’s important we contribute to them in meaningful ways.”
