Flourish Amargo Reaches New Heights with Innovative Construction Milestone

Sherpa Group has reached new heights with its latest project, Flourish Amargo, creating a temporary landmark for Palm Beach by completing the elevator & stair shafts ahead of the building in a rarity for residential construction that will fast-track delivery of the project.

Located at 6–12 Sixth Avenue, Palm Beach, Amargo will rise 18 storeys and deliver a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments for the booming Palm Beach market, with prices starting from $600,000. With strong buyer demand already secured, the project continues to gather momentum as construction progresses ahead of schedule.

“Building the elevator & stair shafts first is highly unusual for residential projects such as Amargo, but it does provide a number of advantages that allow for timely project delivery,” said Mark Short, Director of LPS Group.

“It allows us to streamline the critical path as we can remove much earlier the builder’s hoist that will be installed on the side of the project to move workers and materials from floor to floor. By having the shaft up earlier we also can commission the lift earlier, & installing the stair shaft allows us to have unimpeded access and egress established on the project ahead of the live decks”.

The novel construction method is usually reserved for large-format jobs that have significant lay-down areas, such as hospital projects, and marks a first for Sherpa which has completed 15 projects on the Gold Coast in the past six years.

“This is the first time we have adopted this approach and we are excited to see if the change in construction methodology can streamline our program and benefit our high-rise residential projects,” said Chistie Leet, founder of Sherpa Group.

“Locals would have noticed the new landmark we have created with the elevator & stair shaft, but it’s only temporary. Rest assured that Flourish Amargo will begin to quickly take shape around the shaft as we edge closer to completing Amargo early next year.”

The completion of the elevator & stair shafts ahead of schedule is among several milestones achieved for the project, which include the pouring of ground floor and the completion of the basement.

With construction advancing steadily, Sherpa Group has achieved an 84 per cent sell-out of the 125 apartments available at Flourish Amargo.
